BODY MASS INDEX

BMI stands for Body Mass Index. It is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to adult men and women. To calculate your BMI, you divide your weight in kilograms by your height in meters squared. You can also use a BMI calculator to determine your BMI.

BMI is often used as an indicator of overall health, as it can provide information about a person's risk of developing certain health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. However, it is important to note that BMI is not a perfect measure of health, and there are some limitations to using it as a sole indicator of overall health. For example, it does not take into account differences in muscle mass, bone density, and distribution of fat, which can all affect a person's health. Additionally, certain populations such as athletes or older adults may have a higher BMI due to higher muscle mass, but still be healthy.
